1996
Welcome to the network.
As one of the first trucks, the Actros already relied on a central CAN bus network for digital communication between the engine, gearbox and chassis when it was launched. This made the vehicle more reliable, more capable and significantly smarter. This networking laid the foundation for innovative systems such as the Telligent Maintenance System: it was only through the rapid exchange of data between control units and components that intelligent, predictive maintenance became possible at all.
